The Congress features two organized social events: the Welcome Reception of the first evening and dinner cruise around Kobe Harbor on the second evening.
Welcome Reception

Cost: Included in the registration fee (make sure to tick the “Welcome Reception” button in the registration form)
PROGRAM
A light meal will be served with a buffet and live Sushi and Tempura cooking. The city of Kobe will graciously supply us with Kobe wine as well as beer, juice and oolong tea.

Noh play - Shohjoh (30 minutes)
Noh is an art form historically reserved for the ruling class. Even today, few Japanese get the opportunity to witness what we will be presented with at the Welcome Reception!
“Shohjoh” is one of the most popular Noh plays. Noh is one of the most traditional forms of Japanese performance. It can be described as a highly stylized, masked, song and dance drama. It is a drama because it requires at least two "actors." It is music because it requires actors to sing, and it also calls for an orchestra and a chorus. Noh began in the1300s and during the Edo period (1603-1868), Noh became the official performing art of the Shogun.
Dinner Cruise on board the “Luminous Kobe”
Time: Tuesday, August 31. Buses leave from outside the Convention Center at 18:00. The ship leaves the harbor at 19:00.

On board the ship, we will enjoy a dinner buffet featuring western and Japanese cuisine. Drinks are included and we will experience a traditional sake barrel opening (kagami biraki) ceremony.
The “Luminous Kobe” will take us on a loop out of Kobe Harbor and along the coast. Expect an elegant atmosphere, unique perspectives of the area's scenery and a look at a busy ocean highway!
