The Neuroinformatics 2010 Congress will be held at the Kobe Convention Center in Kobe, Japan.

The City

Kobe at nightKobe is a prominent port city in western Japan with 1.5 million inhabitants. One of the first Japanese cities to open up for foreign trade in the 19th century, Kobe is a cosmopolitan center of culture, science, industry, music and fashion.

Nestled between the mountains and the sea, Kobe is known for the beauty of the surrounding area and its pleasant climate. Hosting the headquarters for hundreds of international corporations and with numerous universities and research institutes, Kobe is an ideal location for any international congress.

Map Getting thereGetting there

Kobe is located in the Kansai region of western Japan, which also includes the cities Kyoto and Osaka. We recommend that Congress participants from outside Japan fly to Kansai International Airport in Osaka. From Kansai airport, take a half-hour high-speed ferry trip to Kobe's domestic airport, and then an 8-minute Port Liner ride to the Convention Center and nearby hotels (Shimin-Hiroba Station).

If you arrive at Tokyo's Narita airport, take a train to Tokyo Station Station (about 60 minutes) and change to the Shinkansen (bullet) train line. Get off at Shin-Kobe Station (2 hours 50 minutes). The trains cost JPY 3000 (Narita to Tokyo) and JPY 15000 (Tokyo to Kobe), and run about every 20 minutes. The last train bound for Shin-Kobe from Tokyo leaves at 20:30, arriving in Kobe at 23:19.
